Project Details
Originally built in the 1940s with an addition in 2000, the original residence was a 2,900 square foot Prairie Style, 4 bed room ranch with 8' high ceilings.

The original layout did not take advantage of this beautiful 5 acre rolling site with its long views to the west. A priority for the owners was to establish a strong point of entry, which the original home lacked. Steep roof lines, high open spaces loaded with detail, natural light and family gathering spaces were all very important program elements.

Vaulted ceilings created with dormers, cupola, high windows and decorative ceiling treatments now give an open lodge type feel. A second floor master suite was added, tucked under the roof lines of the west facing dormers taking advantage of the peaceful location. New to the first floor is a separate entry pavilion, larger kitchen, new breakfast room with fireplace and adjacent courtyard, a new family room, screen porch and redesigned areas of the house which include the office with fireplace, 3 bath rooms, a guest suite and the children's wing.

The lower level was enlarged to incorporate a new and larger 3 car garage, mechanical/storage areas, wine cellar, theatre room, mudroom/laundry room and exercise room. What was once a small ranch on a beautiful lot has been born again – a destination for friends and families in all seasons.
